About our 2020-2021 Season
As you know, there are, at present, still many
uncertainties regarding how long the current policies of social
distancing would go on for, and what the government policies will
be for large gatherings. We are, therefore, still waiting to see
how things will look before we send out brochures and accept
subscription and ticket requests. We will continue to monitor the
directives from our health authorities before making further
announcements.
For those of you who have credit for our upcoming concert(s), rest
assured that it would be applied to the first concert we are able
to present. Please be assured also that the seats you have will
remain yours. We will not reassign your seats until we receive
instructions from you that tell us otherwise.
Our first online concert is announced below.
A Special Performance by Tomasz Ritter just for you!
As you know, we sadly had to cancel the final
concerts of our 2019-2020 season. This included the highly
anticipated Vancouver recital debut of Tomasz Ritter, winner of
the 1st International Chopin Competition for Period Instruments
that we had planned with Early Music Vancouver (EMV) on March 23.
We are pleased to say, however, that Tomasz has recently recorded
this recital on an exquisitely refurbished 1847 Broadwood
fortepiano in Poland, exclusively for patrons of The Vancouver
Chopin Society and EMV.
Because of social distancing restrictions in Poland, Ritter
decided to record his recital in the workshop of Mr. Andrzej
Wlodarczyk, a renowned piano builder as well as collector of
historical instruments. As you will see and hear, much effort has
gone into ensuring the very best sound and video quality for the
performance. The workshop makes for a charming and intimate
location that works beautifully for this repertoire and
instrument.
We will debut this
video recording on Thursday, June 25th at 7:00 p.m PST. Everyone
who has donated their tickets to any of cancelled concerts will
receive an email with a link to the concert a day before the
25th. The link will only become active from June 25th at
7pm exactly.
For all of you who are also interested in availing themselves of
this very special performance, you can do so by purchasing an

Please note that the concert will only be available for a limited
period of one month after the date of the premiere. As you will
see and hear, Tomasz Ritter is one of the most gifted pianists of
his generation and we endeavor to get him to Vancouver as soon as
we can. In the meantime, I encourage you to experience the
artistry of this remarkable young man in the comfort of your home.
