Winter in Majorka

American filmmaker Jeff Buchanan is embarking on a feature film project detailing Chopin and George Sand’s famous holiday on the island of Majorca.

This will be an adaptation of George Sand’s novel of the same title, a book that chronicles the three months she spent with Frederic Chopin on the Mediterranean island over the winter of 1838-39.

Buchanan is creating major crowdfunding campaign specifically tailored to the Chopin lovers of the world. The filmmaker is hoping that by galvanizing this vast audience he can create a film that appropriately honors Chopin and his music.

The campaign will launch February 1st and run for just 30 days, finishing on March 1st, Chopin’s birthday.
