Daniil Trifonov wins the 1st place award at the 13th International Rubinstein Piano Competition in Tel Aviv, Israel on Thursday the 26th of May, 2011.

Yesterday in the Vancouver Sun, there was an announcement in the Westcoast Life section that we were sponsoring a concert of Chopin Piano Competition laureate Daniil Trifonov with Martha Argerich and Nelson Freire on May 1 at the Playhouse.
This is a major error. -

Yulianna Avdeeva, the 1st prize winner of the 16th International Chopin Competition , postponed her May 1st, 2011 recital to the next season 2011/12. As you know, we set this date not knowing the winner, and unfortunately it did not work for the artist.
In her place we invited another Russian pianist and a top prize winner of this Competition, Daniil Trifonov.
