BRUCE LIU
Just the mention to this young keyboard star should send many people rushing to snap up tickets. We had such incredible demands for tickets for his 2022 Vancouver debut that an extra (sold out) concert had to be arranged.
Since his sensational win at the 18th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Bruce has been traveling the world, and moving audiences with both his effortless virtuosity as well as his mature and thoughtful musicality.
An exclusive recording artist with Deutsche Grammophon, his first album of music by Chopin was included by Gramophone magazine as one of the best classical albums of 2021. The same prestigious magazine described Bruce’s playing as “evoking Shura Cherkassky and Georges Cziffra.”
Already an artist with a unique personality as well as musical insights far beyond his years, every single performance by Bruce Liu is an event to be savoured and treasured.

“One of the most distinguished Chopin recitals of recent years, full of maturity, character and purpose.” (Gramophone)
There is something extraordinary, like a privilege, in watching a performer in their element doing what they do at their best. That is really what the Edinburgh festivals exist for, and Bruce Liu delivered that in spades this morning, both in terms of breathtaking virtuosity and in focused musicality.
