Guo demonstrated the extraordinary suppleness needed to make the composer’s rippling scale passages and elaborate ornamentation hypnotic. And while his velvet sound is filled with delicacy and contrast, he is capable of building, while never playing percussively, to thunderous conclusions. (The Boston Musical Intelligencer)
Guo in a sensitive performance accomplished a great deal musically and expressively with this labyrinthine adventurous structure, very close to the unique narrative dream-aesthetic of the fantasy created and cultivated by the composer. (Michael Moran)
